Engineering can also be defined as the creative application of scientific principles to design or develop structures, machines, apparatus, or manufacturing processes, or works utilizing them singly or in combination; or to construct or operate the same with full cognizance of their design; or to forecast their behavior under specific operating conditions; all as respects an intended function, economics of operation and safety to life and property.

Eligibilty
1. BTech (1st Year) - 10+2 with minimum 60% marks in total for required subject combination (Physics & Maths compulsory + one optional) and UPSEE/ AIEEE qualification. (Subject to change as per UPTU, Lucknow norms).
2. BTech (2nd Year) - 3 Years diploma in relevant branch of Engineering with minimum 60% marks and UPSEE qualification. Candidates having graduation degree in science can also apply. (Subject to change as per UPTU, Lucknow norms).
